Hair extensions are attached with bonds that pull and tug on the roots of your natural hair. Sleeping on a silk pillowcase helps to reduce the friction that pulls and weakens roots and bonds whilst you sleep. Using our silk pillowcase and silk scrunchies will minimize tangling and matting and prolong the life of your hair extensions, ensuring they look better for longer!
Unlike other fabrics which may pull and tug on your lashes, our silk pillowcases are gentle on eyelash extensions and helps to protect them as you sleep. Silk enables the lashes to glide over the pillow and prevents damage, ensuring your lashes stay looking better for longer!

Hand-washing is always the best way to wash your silk pillowcase, and will ensure your pillowcase stays in the best condition. It is very important to use a gentle, PH neutral washing detergent specifically designed for washing silk or delicate fabrics. Biological and non biological detergents are not suitable for washing your pillowcase, and should never be used to wash any of The Big Silk products. They will cause the silk to harden and lose its benefits, even after one wash!
Dissolve silk friendly washing detergent into warm water (maximum 30C). Add your pillowcase to the water and very gently rub any stains. Rinse your pillowcase with warm water until all remaining detergent has been removed. Carefully squeeze out any excess water, but avoid wringing or twisting as this will damage the silk. To remove any remaining water, you can lay the pillowcase flat on a dry towel and roll them up together. Then gently squeeze and press the towel.
Although we strongly recommend washing all of our products by hand, our products are machine washable. Always use a PH neutral washing detergent specifically designed for washing silk or delicate fabrics. Biological and non biological detergents are not suitable for washing your pillowcase, and should never be used to wash any of The Big Silk products. Always wash on a delicate cycle. Wash on a cold temperature setting (max 30c). Use a non snagging delicates wash bag if you can.
NEVER tumble dry your silk pillowcase. We always recommend air drying your silk pillowcase. Please avoid drying on a radiator as the direct heat can damage the silk.
Yes, The Big Silk Pillowcases can be ironed. Always iron on a cool setting and iron inside out.
Yes, all of The Big Silk products are washable, although we would recommend washing scrunchies and beauty bands as infrequently as possible in order to maintain their longevity. We recommend hand washing with cold water only, and a PH neutral, silk friendly detergent should always be used.
The best way to reshape your scrunchies after washing them, is to steam them with a steamer. If you don't have access to a steamer they can be ironed on a cool setting. After ironing/steaming your scrunchie, put it on your wrist and tug around the edges to fluff it up.
The recommended and best way to wash your silk face mask is hand washing. Silk is a delicate fabric and needs to be treated gently. You should always use a silk friendly detergent. If you choose to machine wash, it should be on a cold and delicate setting, and a washing bag should be used. Line dry only.
